God is talking to us in several ways…. October 13, 2012 – Posted in: Uncategorized

So I wanted to share how God communicated with me last night.  I’ve been sort of in a rut and locked up on gaming and not really following or reading the Word lately.  At church we are going through Matthew and recently just covered the parable of the sower, Matthew 13 1:9, and I realized that I am sometimes the seeds thrown on the rocks and not in the fertile soil.  I can grow very quick, but then fall just as fast because there wasn’t much soil.  Last night I explained this to my wife and told her about this and how I felt and what I think we should do about that.  I explained to her that I think we should get back to our worship (singing to our loving God) and bible studies at night.  So she agreed with me and we decided to pick a reading plan from the bible.  That plan was Psalms in a year.  Well we prayed that God be there with us as we opened up His Word and just talk to us.  Guess what He did….HE SPOKE TO US as we read Psalms 1.

Psalm 1

 1 Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.

4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked leads to destruction

If you can see at verse 3 it talks about a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither whatever they do prospers.  Also states that blessed is the one we delights in the law of the Lord and who meditates on his law day and night.

So to me that was like God talking to me giving me reassurance that we as a couple are on the right step and to continue that path.

God wants us to tell of his wonderful miracles and of His communications to us.  It’s part of our witnessing that should be spread to the world that our God is still alive and never leaves us!

What are some ways that God has used to communicate with you?
